Ben Williamson got into photography after a “failed music career”. At the beginning of his photography journey, he’d walk with his camera in Maine, photographing locations unique to the area. In this interview, we talk about his fascinating background as a musician, crossover skills, the artistic elements that he looks for when taking photos, and much more. Watch our video below to find out more and get inspired to take photos of nature!

In Western culture, we often say that we like something. In other cultures, they say that something likes us. I think there’s both of that. Things do draw us in and it’s so cool to see what people are attracted to or want to photograph. — Ben Williamson
Ben’s passions for history and weather help him connect deeply with landscape photography. His work is a great example of “local character”. Every landscape is different, and showcasing a location’s unique features is an effective way to celebrate its beauty. Ben’s regional focus makes this clear: he loves what he photographs.
