Photo Masters LIVE: Wayne Suggs Interview

In this video interview, I have a conversation with Wayne Suggs, who is an incredible landscape photographer specializing in night photography. Wayne has been photographing the Southwest for over 45 years, and he has a mind-blowing portfolio to show for it!

Wayne's photos have been featured in local and national publications. He has been featured in galleries throughout the State of New Mexico, authored five books, won a bunch of prestigious awards, and the list goes on. Naturally, I had a lot of questions to ask about his passion for photography, his approach to processing, and much more.

You can see more of Wayne's photos on his website: https://www.waynesuggsphotography.com

What do you mean focusing 1/3 of the way into a landscape scene for DOF is an old wives tale, old film shooters did that all the time!

Check out my video and article on hyperfocal distance and depth of field: https://www.photomasters.com/post/hyperfocal-distance-and-depth-of-field

Basically, focusing "one-third" into the scene doesn't actually mean anything, people say this all the time but no one really knows what it means, and under any interpretation of this, it doesn't actually get you to the hyperfocal point for optimizing depth of field, except maybe by pure luck.
